A scaled down version of our Tauri shawl, this garter stitch neckwarmer is a riff on a classic keyhole scarf.

Materials
1 Ball BERROCO ELEMENTS (50 grs), # 4922 Chlorine
Straight knitting needles, size 8 (5.00 mm)
Spare needle (any size up to size 8)
1 St holder
Gauge
18 sts = 4"; 32 rows = 4" in Garter St
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
Scarf
Cast on 16 sts Work even in Garter St for 4".
Dec Row (WS): * k1, k2 tog, rep from * 4 times more, end k1 - 11 sts.
Next Row (RS): * K in front of next st k in back of same st and sl st to holder held in back, rep from * until all sts have been worked - 11 sts + 11 sts on holder for lining.
Ribbing: Row 1 (WS): P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.
Row 2: K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until ribbed section measures 2", end on WS. Sl 11 sts on holder onto free needle and sl 11 sts on RH needle onto holder. Join yarn and, beg with Row 2, work in ribbing for 2", end on WS. Sl 11 sts from holder onto spare needle with ends of the 2 needles pointed in the same direction.
Joining Row (RS): Holding one needle in front of the other, * insert point of RH needle through first st on front needle and first st on back needle and k these 2 sts tog, rep from * until all sts have been worked - 11 sts.
Inc Row 1 (WS): K2 * k in front and back of next st, k2, rep from * across - 14 sts.
Inc Row 2 (RS): K in front and back of each st across - 28 sts. Work even in Garter St until scarf measures 30" from beg or until yarn is almost gone. Bind off.
