1 Set (4) each double pointed knitting needles (dpn's, sizes 8 (5.00 mm) and 10 (6.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauntlet (Make 2)

With smaller dpn's, cast on 36 sts.  Divide sts evenly onto 3 needle and join, being careful not to twist sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in k1, p1 ribbing for 1".   Change to larger dpn's and k the next rnd, dec 8 sts as evenly spaced around as possible - 28 sts.  Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) until piece measures 3" from beg.

Inc Rnd:  K1, M1k, k to 1 st before marker, M1k, k1 - 30 sts.  Rep this inc every 8th rnd 6 times more - 42 sts.  Work even until piece measures 14" from beg.  Change to smaller dpn's and k the next rnd, inc 12 sts as evenly spaced around as possible - 54 sts.  Work even in k1, p1 ribbing until piece measures 15" from beg.  Bind off in ribbing.
