Materials

1 Hank BERROCO WEEKEND DK (100 grs), #2924 Rhubarb (MC)

Small amount BERROCO WEEKEND CHUNKY (100 grs), #6948 Nectarine (CC)

Straight knitting needles, size 6 (4.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

2 Double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 6 (4.00 mm)

Gauge

22 sts = 4”; 48 rows = 4” in Garter St

Top

With straight needles, using MC, cast on 81 sts.  Bind off 30 sts for left tie.

Left Side:  Row 1 (RS):  K until there are 10 sts on RH needle, turn leaving remaining 41 sts on LH needle.

Row 2:  K10.

Row 3 (Dec Row):  K2 tog, k to last 2 sts, k2 tog – 8 sts.  Rep this dec every 3^rd row until 2 sts remain, end on WS.  Sl 2 sts to dpn and work I-Cord as follows:

Row 1 (RS):  * K2, do not turn.  Slide sts to beg of needle to work next row from RS.  Rep from * until cord measures approximately 9”.  Fasten off.

Right Side:  Join MC in first st on LH needle.

Row 1 (RS):  Bind off 1 st, k until there are10 sts on RH needle, turn, leaving remaining 30 sts on needle for right tie.  Complete same as left side.

Right Tie:  Join MC in first st on LH needle and bind off 30 sts.

Bottom

Note:  Bottom is worked all in one piece starting at back waist and ending at front waist.

With straight needles, using MC, cast on 27 sts.  Work even in Garter St until piece measures 1½” from beg.

Shape Leg Openings:  Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 21 sts.

Dec Row (RS):  K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1 – 19 sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 4 times more, end on WS – 11 sts.  Knit 14 rows.

Inc Row (RS):   K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 13 sts.  Rep this inc 4 times more – 21 sts.  Cast on 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 27 sts.  Work even until piece measures 1½” above last group of cast-on sts, end on WS.  Bind off.

Finishing

Fold bottom in half at center of crotch and sew side seams.

Flower:  With crochet hook, using CC, ch 5.  Join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1:  * Ch 5, sl st into ring, rep from * 5 times more, end by joining with a sl st in first ch.  Fasten off.  Sew flower to center bound-off st on top.
