Finishing
Fold Gold band at top of bag in half to WS and sew in place forming a casing. Fold bag flat and measure in 4” from each side on front and back and mark with pins. Using instructions on package, insert 1 grommet at each marker (2 on front and 2 on back). Using 2 strands each of Brown, Gold, Red and Green, make a 30” long 4-strand braid. Insert end of braid into left grommet on front, through bag, out of left grommet on back, into right grommet on back, through bag, then out of right grommet on front. Tie ends of braid tog leaving 3” free for tassel. Flatten bag again and measure in 2” from each side on front and back and mark with pins. Insert 1 dowel into gold casing at 1 marker on front, through casing, then out at 2nd marker on front. Repeat with 2nd dowel on back. Note: Since there are no eyelets, just insert the dowel between sts. Sew casing tightly at each end of both dowels to prevent dowels from slipping.
