Materials

Berroco Plush (50 grs), 6(6-7-8-9) balls #1912 Clean Air Blue.

Straight knitting needles, sizes 8 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

16” length circular knitting needle, size 8.

1 St Marker.


Gauge

3 sts = 1”; 5 rows = 1” in St st on size 10 needles.

Stitch Glossary

KSP

K1, then sl st back to LH needle, lift 2nd st on LH needle back over returned st and replace returned st on RH needle (1 st dec’d).


Back

With smaller straight needles, cast on 47(53-59-65-73) sts.

Row 1 (RS): K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.

Row 2: P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 6” from beg, end on Row 2, increasing 3 sts evenly spaced across – 50(56-62-68-76) sts. Change to larger needles and work even in St st until piece measures 11” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes: Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows.

Next Row (RS): K2, KSP, k to last 4 sts, sl 1, k1, psso, k2. P 1 row. Rep these 2 rows 4 times more – 34(40-46-52-60) sts. Work even until armholes measure 8(8-8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS.

Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 3(4-5-5-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.

Next Row (RS): Bind off 2(3-4-5-6) sts, k until there are 3(4-5-6-7) sts on RH needle, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 18(18-18-20-20) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 2(3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 3 rows and AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge once.


Front

Work same as for back until armholes measure 6-1/2(6-1/2-7-7-1/2-8)”, end on WS.

Note: Work decs on left side of neck as sl 1, k1, psso, k2. Work decs on right side of neck as k2, KSP.

Shape Neck: K11(14-17-19-23), join another ball of yarn and bind off center 12(12-12-14-14) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge as in note every RS row 4 times. When armholes measure 8(8-8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, bind off 3(4-5-5-7) sts at each armhole edge once, then bind off 2(3-4-5-6) sts twice.


Sleeves

With smaller straight needles, cast on 31(31-31-33-33) sts. Work in ribbing same as for back for 6”, end on Row 1. Change to larger needles and p the next row, dec 4 sts evenly spaced across – 27(27-27-29-29) sts. Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every other row 0(0-0-0-4) times, every 4th row 0(0-4-10-7) times, every 6th row 7(7-5-0-0) times, then every 8th row 1(1-0-0-0) times – 43(43-45-49-51) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 17(17-16-1/4-15-14)” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Cap: Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other RS row 3 times, then every RS row 5(5-5-6-6) times. Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 11(11-13-15-17) sts.


Finishing

Steam pieces. Sew shoulder seams.

Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at center back neck, pick up and k14(14-14-15-15) sts across back neck edge, 11 sts along left front neck edge, 16(16-16-18-18) sts across front neck edge, 11 sts along right front neck edge and 14(14-14-15-15) sts across remaining back neck edge – 66(66-66-70-70) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 3”. Bind off loosely in ribbing. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
