With straight needles, using 1 strand each of A and B held tog, cast on 44(48-52-56-62-66) sts.  Knit 4 rows.  Work even in St st until piece measures 2½(2½-3-3- 3½-3½)" from beg, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K2, k2 tog, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 - 42(46-50-54-60-64) sts.  Rep this dec every 4½" twice more - 38(42-46-50-56-60) sts.  Work even until piece measures 12½(12½-13-13-13½-13½) " from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 2(2-3-3-4-4) sts at beg of the next 2 rows - 34(38-40-44-48-52) sts.

Dec Row (RS):  K2, k2 tog, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 - 32(36-38-42-46-50) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 1(2-2-3-4-5) times more - 30(32-34-36-38-40) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7½(7½-8-8½-9-9½)", end on WS.  Mark center 8 sts on last row worked.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts, k to first marker, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 8 sts, k to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next row, then 4(4-5-5-6-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge once.

Left Front

With straight needles, using 1 strand each of A and B held tog, cast on 27(29-31-33-36-38) sts.  Knit 4 rows.  Work even in St st until piece measures 2½(2½-3-3- 3½-3½)" from beg, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K2, k2 tog, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 - 25(27-29-31-34-36) sts.  Working decs in this manner (k2, k2 tog at side edge and SSK, k2 at front edge), dec 1 st at side edge every 4½" twice more.  AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at front edge every 1½" 11 times more.  When piece measures 12½(12½-13-13-13½-13½)" from beg (before all decs at front edge have been completed), bind off 2(2-3-3-4-4) sts at armhole edge once, then dec 1 st in same manner as on back armhole every RS row 2(3-3-4-5-6) times.  When all decs have been completed, work even on 8(9-10-11-12-13) sts until armhole measures 7½(7½-8-8½-9-9½)", end on WS.  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts at armhole edge once, then 4(4-5-5-6-6) sts once for shoulder.

Right Front

Work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.  Bind off for armhole and shoulder on WS rows.

Sleeves

With straight needles, using 1 strand each of A and B held tog, cast on 23(23-23-25-25-25) sts.  Knit 4 rows.  Work even in St st until sleeve measures 2" from beg, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):  K2, M1k, k to last 2 sts, M1k, k2 - 25(25-25-27-27-27) sts.  Rep this inc every 6(4½-3-3-2¼-1¾)" 1(2-3-3-4-5) times more - 27(29-31-33-35-37) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 12" from beg, end on WS.

Shape Cap:  Bind off 2(2-3-3-4-4) sts at beg of the next 2 rows - 23(25-25-27-27-29) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every 4th row 1(0-1-1-2-2) times, then every RS row 6(8-7-7-6-6) times, end on WS.  Bind off remaining 9(9-9-11-11-13) sts.

Finishing

Sew shoulder seam.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams.

Front/Neckband:  With RS facing, using circular needle and 1 strand each of A and B held tog, beg at lower right front edge, pick up and k49(49-52-54-57-59) sts along right front edge to shoulder seam, 18 sts across back neck edge then 49(49-52-54-57-59) sts along left front edge - 116(116-122-126-132-136) sts.  Knit 2 rows.  Bind off knitwise.
