Berroco Metallic FX (25 grs) 7(8-9-10) balls #1006 Black (A), and 11(12-13-14) balls #1004 Silver/Black (B).

Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Crochet hook, size 5.00 mm (H).

Gauge

11 sts = 2"; 8 rows = 1" in St st with size 8 needles.

27 sts = 4"; 10 rows = 1" in mosaic pat with size 8 needles.

Back and fronts are worked in one piece to the underarm.


Mosaic Pattern (multiple of 18 sts plus 3)

Row 1 (RS): With B, k2, * sl 1, k2, (sl 1, k4) twice, sl 1, k2, sl 1, k1, rep from * across, end k1.

Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl with same color as previous row, sl all sl sts with yarn in FRONT.

Row 3: With A, k1, * sl 1, k4, sl 1, k1, sl 1, k3, sl 1, k1, sl 1, k4, rep from * across, end sl 1, k1.

Row 5: With B, k3, * sl 1, k5, sl 1, k1, sl 1, k5, sl 1, k3, rep from * across.

Body

With smaller needles, using A, cast on 287(305-323-341) sts.

Row 1 (RS): K1TBL, * p1, k1TBL, rep from * across.

Row 2: P1, * k1TBL, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 1", end on WS. Change to larger needles.

Beg Mosaic Pat (RS): Rib 7 sts and place on a holder for buttonhole band, work Mosaic Pat over next 273 (291-309-327) sts, place last 7 sts on a holder for button band. Continue in Mosaic Pat until piece measures 12-1/2" from beg, end on WS.

Divide For Fronts and Back: Next Row (RS): Work 55(60-64-68) sts and place on a holder for right front, bind off 22(22-24-24) sts (armhole), work to last 77(82-88-92) sts and place these sts on a holder for left front. Continue on remaining 119(127-133-143) sts for back until armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)". Bind off all sts.


Right Front

With RS facing, sl 55(60-64-68) sts from right front holder to larger needle, join A and B and, beg with a WS row, work even in Mosaic Pat until armhole measures 5-1/2(6-6-1/2-7)", end on WS.

Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Bind off 7(8-8-7) sts (neck edge), work to end. Continue to bind off 3 sts at neck edge 1(1-2-2) times, 2 sts twice, then dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 6(6-5-5) times. Work even until armhole is same length as for back. Bind off remaining 35(39-41-46) sts for shoulder.


Left Front

With RS facing, join A and B and work sts from left front holder, bind off 22(22-24-24) sts at beg of row then work to end. Complete to correspond to Right Front, reversing all shaping.


Sleeves

With smaller needles and A, cast on 43(43-45-45) sts and work in ribbing same as for body for 1", inc 1(1-2-2) sts at end of last row- 44(44-47-47) sts. Change to larger needles and B and work in St st, inc 1 st each side every 4th row 0(9-12-21) times, then every 6th row 22(16-14-8) times. Work even on 88(94-99-105) sts until piece measures 20-1/2" from beg. Bind off all sts.


Finishing

Sew shoulder seams.

Buttonband: With RS facing, sl 7 sts from left front holder to smaller needle, join A and inc 1 st at inside edge. Working this extra st in St st, work remaining sts in ribbing as established until band, when slightly stretched, fits along left front edge to neck. Bind off. Sew band in place. Place markers on band for 6 buttons, the first one just above lower edge ribbing, the last one 3/4" from top edge, and 4 others spaced evenly between.

Buttonhole band: With WS facing, sl 7 sts from right front holder to smaller needle, join A and inc 1 st at inside edge. Work to correspond to buttonband, making buttonholes opposite markers as follows: Work 2 sts, k2tog, yo, work to end.

Sew top edges of sleeves to front and back armholes, sewing top 1-1/2" at sides of sleeves to bound-off armhole sts.

With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, work 1 row sc evenly around neck edge, join with a st st, then work 1 row backwards sc (from left to right) evenly around neck edge. Sew on buttons.
