Dec Row (RS):  K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 - 94(104-114-124-134-144) sts.  Rep this dec every 2" 5 times more - 84(94-104-114-124-134) sts.  Work even until piece measures 12(12-12½ -12½ -13-13)" from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 - 86(96-106-116-126-136) sts.  Rep this inc every 4th row twice more, then every RS row 4 times, end on WS - 98(108-118-128-138-148) sts.

Shape Sleeves:  Cast on 8 sts at beg of the next 2 rows - 114(124-134-144-154-164) sts.  Work even in St st for 6 rows, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):  K2, M1k, k to last 2 sts, M1k, k2 - 116(126-136-146-156-166) sts.  Rep this inc every 8th row 4 times more - 124(134-144-154-164-174) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 6½(6- 7- 7½- 8- 8½)" from cast-on sts, end on RS.

Shape Shoulders:  Next Row (WS):  P4(5-5-6-6-7), then sl these sts to holder, p to end.

Following Row (RS):  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7), k to end.  Rep the last 2 rows 7(5-6-6-5-7) times more, slipping the sts at beg of the WS rows to same holder each time, end on RS - 60(74-74-70-92-62) sts on needle, 32(30-35-42-36-56) sts on holder.

Next Row (WS):  P5(4-6-5-7-6), then sl these sts to same holder, p to end.

Following Row (RS):  Bind off 5(4-6-5-7-6) sts, k to end.  Rep the last 2 rows 0(2-1-1-2-0) times more, end on RS.  Bind off remaining 50 sts for back neck.

Left Shoulder Flap:  With RS facing, sl 37(42-47-52-57-62) sts from holder to larger needle.  Join yarn and work even in St st for 4 rows, end on WS.  Change to smaller needles.  Work even in Garter St for 8 rows, end on WS.

Buttonhole Row (RS):  K4(6-5-5-6-6), k2 tog, yo, * k5(5-7-8-9-10), k2 tog, yo, rep from * 3 times more, k to end.  Knit 5 rows.  Bind off.

Front

Work same as back until sleeves measure 4½(4½- 5- 5½- 6- 6½)" from cast-on edges, end on WS.  Mark center of last row.

Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  K to 13 sts before center marker, then sl all sts just worked onto holder for left side.

Right Side:  Bind off 26 sts, dropping marker, k to end.  Purl 1 row.

Neck Dec (RS):  K3, k2 tog, work to end.  Continue to shape sleeve same as back.  AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row 11 times more.  When sleeve measures 6½(6½-7- 7½- 8- 8½)" above cast-on sts, end on RS.  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next 8(6-7-7-6-8) WS rows, then 5(4-6-5-7-6) sts at beg of the next 1(3-2-2-3-1) WS rows for right shoulder.

Left Side:  With WS facing, sl sts from holder to larger needles.  Join yarn and purl 1 row.

Neck Dec (RS):  Work to last 5 sts, SSk, k3.  Continue to shape sleeve same as back.  AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row 11 times more.  When sleeve measures 6½(6½- 7- 7½- 8- 8½)" above cast-on sts, end on WS.  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next 8(6-7-7-6-8) RS rows, then 5(4-6-5-7-6) sts at beg of the next 1(3-2-2-3-1) RS rows for left shoulder.

Finishing

Sew right shoulder seam.  Sew side and sleeve seam.  Sew buttons to left shoulder of front to correspond to buttonholes.  Button buttons, then tack down left shoulder flap at neck and sleeve edges so it lies flat.
