2 Hanks BERROCO SEDUCE COLORS (40 grs), #4490 Prophesy (A)

1 Hank BERROCO PURE PIMA (50 grs), #2215 Walnut (B)

Straight knitting needles, size 8 (5.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

24” Length circular knitting needle, size 8 (5.00 mm)

16” Length circular knitting needle, size 6 (4.00 mm)

Gauge

17 sts = 4”;  24 rows = 4” in St st with MC on larger needles

Back

With straight needles, using MC, cast on 86(94-102-112-120-128) sts.  Work even in St st for 14(14-14½-14½-15-15)”, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes.  Work even until armholes measure 9½(10-10-10½-10½-11)”, end on WS.  Bind off.

 

Front

Work same as back until armholes measure ½(1-1-1½-1½-2)”, end on WS – 86(94-102-112-120-128) sts.

Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  K30(34-38-43-47-51), sl the next 26 sts onto holder, join another hank of MC and k to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge every RS row twice, dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row 4 times, then every RS row twice – 18(22-26-31-35-39) sts each side.  Work even until armholes measure 9½(10-10-10½-10½-11)”, end on WS.  Bind off.

Neck Insert:  With RS facing, using larger circular needle and MC, beg at left shoulder, pick up and k42 sts along left front neck edge, k26 sts from holder, then pick up and k42 sts along right front neck edge – 110 sts.  Knit 1 row on WS for first Garter Ridge.  Work 2 rows in St st.

Dec Row 1 (RS):  K26, k2 tog, * k12, k2 tog, rep from * to last 26 sts, end k26 – 105 sts.  Beg with a p row, work even in St st for 3 rows, end on WS.

Dec Row 2 (RS):  K26, k2 tog, * k11, k2 tog, rep from * to last 25 sts, end k25 – 100 sts.  Beg with a p row, work even in St st for 3 rows, end on WS.

Dec Row 3 (RS):  K25, k2 tog, * k10, k2 tog, rep from * to last 25 sts, end k25 – 95 sts.  Purl 1 row.

Dec Row 4 (RS):  K18, k2 tog, k5, k2 tog, * k9, k2 tog, rep from * to last 24 sts, k5, k2 tog, k17 – 88 sts.  Knit 1 row on WS for second Garter Ridge.  Bind off.

Bottom Ruffle:  With RS facing, using larger circular needle and A, pick up and k1 st in each purl bump of first (lower) Garter Ridge – 110 sts.

Inc Row (WS):  P1, * M1p, p1, rep from * to last st, end p1 – 218 sts.

Row 1 (RS):  Knit.

Row 2:  Purl.

Row 3:  K1, * (k2 tog) 3 times, (yo, k1) 6 times, (k2 tog) 3 times, rep from * to last st, end k1.

Row 4:  Purl.  Rep the last 4 rows until ruffle measures 2”, end on WS.  Bind off with MC.

Upper Ruffle:  With RS facing, using larger circular needle and A, pick up and k1 st in each purl bump of second (upper) Garter Ridge – 88 sts.

Inc Row (WS):  (P2, M1p) 6 times, * p1, M1p, rep from * to last 12 sts, end (p2, M1p) 6 times – 164 sts.  Rep Rows 1 – 4 of Bottom Ruffle until Upper Ruffle measures 2½”, end on WS.  Bind off with MC.

 

Sleeves

With straight needles, using MC, cast on 82(86-86-90-90-94) sts.  Work even in St st for 2 rows, end on WS.  Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 12 rows, then 4 sts at beg of the next 6 rows.  Bind off remaining 22(26-26-30-30-34) sts.

 

Finishing

Sew shoulder seams.

Neckband:  With RS facing, using larger circular needle and B, beg at left shoulder seam, pick up and k88 sts along front neck edge, then 34 sts across back neck edge – 122 sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in Reverse St st (p EVERY rnd) for ¾”.  Bind off.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side seams, leaving lower 4” on each side open for side slits.

Belt:  With larger circular needle, using 2 strands of B held tog, cast on 480(500-520-540-560-580) sts.  Bind off.
