1 Ball each Berroco Nanuk (50 grs), #5434 Sledge (A) and #5403 Narwhal (B)
1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 10 (6.50 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

12 sts = 4"; 18 rnds = 4" in St st

Hat
With dpn's, using A, cast on 63 sts. Divide sts onto 3 needles and join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) for 2½". Change to B and work even until piece measures 7½" from beg.
Shape Top: Dec Rnd 1: * K5, k2 tog, rep from * around - 54 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
Dec Rnd 2: * K4, k2 tog, rep from * around - 45 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
Dec Rnd 3: * K3, k2 tog, rep from * around - 36 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
Dec Rnd 4: * K2, k2 tog, rep from * around - 27 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
Dec Rnd 5: K1, (k2 tog) 13 times - 14 sts. Break off yarn, leaving an 8" long end. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Pull up tightly and secure. Fasten off.
Finishing
Using A, make a 3" diameter pompom and sew to top of hat.
