This garment is made in one piece to underarms, then divided for back and fronts.

Body

With smaller 29” circular needle, cast on 66(74-86-94-102-110) sts.  DO NOT join.

Ribbing:  Row 1 (RS):  K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.

Row 2:  P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows once more, then rep Row 1 once more, end on RS.  Change to larger circular needle and p the next row, dec 6(6-10-10-10-10) sts across – 60(68-76-84-92-100) sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 8(8-8½-8½-9-9)” from beg, end on WS.

Divide for Back and Front:  Next Row (RS): With straight needles, k12(14-16-18-20-22), leave remaining 48(54-60-66-72-78) sts on circular needle for back and left front.  Turn.

Right Front

Purl 1 row. 

Shape Armhole:  Dec 1 st at the end of next row, then at same edge (armhole edge) EVERY row 1(2-3-4-5-6) times more – 10(11-12-13-14-15) sts.  Work even until armhole measures 6(6-6½-7-7½-8)”, end on WS.

Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  Bind off 2 sts, k to end – 8(9-10-11-12-13) sts.  Dec 1 st at neck edge EVERY row twice – 6(7-8-9-10-11) sts.  Work even until armhole measures 8(8-8½-9-9½-10)”, end on RS.

Shape Shoulder (WS):  Bind off 3(4-4-5-5-6) sts at armhole edge once, then 3(3-4-4-5-5) sts once.

Back

With RS facing, join yarn in first st remaining on circular needle.  With straight needle, bind off 4 sts, then k until there are 28(32-36-40-44-48) sts on RH needle.  Leave remaining 16(18-20-22-24-26) sts on circular needle for left front.  Turn.  Purl 1 row.

Shape Armholes:  Dec 1 st each end of next row, then EVERY row 1(2-3-4-5-6) times more – 24(26-28-30-32-34) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 8(8-8½-9-9½-10)”, end on WS.  Mark center 10 sts on last row.

Shape Shoulders and Neck:  Next Row (RS):  Bind off 3(4-4-5-5-6) sts, k to marker, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 10 sts, k to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 3(4-4-5-5-6) sts at beg of the next row, then 3(3-4-4-5-5) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row once.

Left Front

With RS facing, join yarn in first st remaining on circular needle.  With straight needles, bind off 4 sts, then k to end – 12(14-16-18-20-22) sts.  Complete to correspond to right front, reversing all shaping.  Work armhole decs at beg of RS rows and at end of WS rows.  Bind off for neck on WS row and shoulder on RS row.

Finishing

Sew shoulder seams.

Neckband:  With RS facing, using 16” circular needle, beg at right front edge, pick up and k9 sts along right front neck edge, 16 sts across back neck edge, then 9 sts along left front neck edge – 34 sts.  Beg with Row 2, work in ribbing same as back for 1”, end on WS.  Bind off in ribbing.

Left Frontband:  With RS facing, using 16” circular needle, beg at top of neckband, pick up and k31 sts along left front edge.

Ribbing:  Row 1 (WS):  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until band measures 1”, end on WS.  Bind off in ribbing.

Right Frontband:  Beg at lower right front edge, work to correspond to left frontband.

Armbands:  With RS facing, using 16” circular needle, beg at center on lower edge of armhole, pick up and k40 sts around entire armhole edge.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 1”.  Bind off in ribbing.
