1 Ball each Berroco Comfort DK (50 grs), #2761 Lovage (green), #2726 Cornflower (blue), #2741 Bittersweet (brown) and #2730 Teaberry (rose)

Crochet hook, size 3.50 mm (E)

Two 3/8” buttons for eyes

Small amount polyester stuffing

Legs (Make 2)

With crochet hook, using green, ch 12, join with a sl st being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1:  Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 – 12 sc’s.  Rep this rnd 9 times more.  Fasten off.

Body

With crochet hook, join blue in first sc of one leg.

Rnd 1:  Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sc in next 5 sc’s of first leg, sc in 12 sc’s of second leg, sc in remaining 6 sc’s of first leg, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 – 24 sc’s.

Rnd 2:  Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 – 24 sc’s.  Rep this rnd 4 times more.  Change to brown and rep Rnd 2 seven times more.

Dec Rnd 1:  Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), * dec 1 over next 2 sc’s, sc in next sc, rep from * around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 – 16 sc’s.  Rep Rnd 2 twice more.

Dec Rnd 2:  Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), * dec 1 over next 2 sc’s, rep from * around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1 – 8 sc’s.  Rep Rnd 2 once more.  Fasten off.

Arms (Make 2)

With crochet hook, using green, ch 4.

Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 3 sc’s.  Turn.

Row 2:  Ch 1, sc in each sc across.  Turn.  Rep this row 3 times more.  Fasten off.

Finishing

Sew bottoms of legs.  Stuff body with polyester stuffing.  Sew top of head.  Sew arms to each side of body.  Sew on buttons for eyes as in photo.  With tapestry needle and rose, embroider mouth as in photo.

Hair:  With crochet hook, join rose at side of head with a sl st.  * Ch 14, join with a sl st to head 1/4” from last sl st.  Rep from * working across head to the other side, then making 2 more rows of loops in the same manner.  Fasten off.
