Materials

7(8-9) Balls Berroco Lodge (50 grs), #7408

Straight knitting needles, sizes 8 (5.00 mm) and 10 (6.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE


Gauge

14 sts = 4"; 20 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles

20 sts = 4"; 21 rows = 4" in k1, p1 ribbing on smaller needles (Slightly stretched)

Wrap

First Sleeve:  Cuff:  With smaller needles, cast on 45(49-53) sts.

Ribbing:  Row 1 (RS):  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 10" from beg, end on RS.  Change to larger needles and p the next row, dec 13(14-16) sts as evenly spaced as possible across - 32(35-37) sts.  Keeping 4 sts at each edge in Garter St and remaining sts in St st, work 2 rows even, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):  K4, M1k, k to last 4 sts, M1k, k4 - 34(37-39) sts.  Rep this inc every ½", 10 times more - 54(57-59) sts.  Work even until piece measures 17½" from beg, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for end of sleeve.

Note:  To determine length of scarf, measure yourself from center back neck to wrist.  If your measurement is about 26", work even until piece measures 55" above markers. If your measurement is  about 27", work even until piece measures 57" above markers.  If your measurement is about 28", work even until piece measures 59" above markers.  When scarf has reached desired measurement, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for end of scarf.

Second Sleeve:  Work even for same distance as from last inc on the other sleeve to first set of markers, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K4, SSK, k to last 6 sts, k2 tog, k4 - 52(55-57) sts.  Rep this dec every ½", 10 times more - 32(35-37) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 7½" above last set of markers, end on RS.  Change to smaller needles and p the next row, inc 13(14-16) sts as evenly spaced as possible across - 45(49-53) sts. 

Cuff:  Work in ribbing same as first cuff for 10", end on WS.  Bind off in ribbing.


Finishing

Sew sleeve seams from cuff to markers, leaving center section open for scarf.
