Finishing
Sew bound-off edge of flap to bound-off edge of bag back. Sew cast-on edge of strap to bound-off edge being careful not to twist strap. Sew one side edge of strap to back of bag matching markers with right and left sides of bound-off edge and with seam at center bottom. Sew the other side of strap to front of bag in same manner. Sew button to center of bag flap 2” up from bound-off edge. Note: Button is decorative, not functional.
Twisted Cords: Cut four 112” long strands of yarn. Put strands tog and fold in half. Tie ends in a knot. Holding the knot in your hand, slip a pencil through the knotted end and twist until cord is so tight that it can’t be twisted further and starts to double back on itself. Put one finger in center of cord and carefully fold in half, letting 2 ends of cord twist tog. Knot end. Carefully cut cord into 4 sections measuring 3”, 6”, 9” and 12”, knotting ends as you cut so that cords don’t unwind. Sew one end of each cord to left top edge of bag front on edge of shoulder strap. Make four 2” pompons and sew one to each free cord end.
