Knitting needles, size 7 / 4.5 mm or size to obtain gauge

GAUGE
20 sts and 30 rows over 4" / 10 cm in Pattern Stitch
 

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
Placemats are worked flat from bottom to top. Side edgings are picked up and worked outwards during finishing.

Ina:

Work even in pattern as established until piece measures approximately 12½" / 31.5 cm from cast-on, end on RS after Row 4 or Row 8 worked in MC. Knit 3 rows. Bind off knitwise.
