Materials

7(7-8-9-10-11) Hanks Berroco Cirrus (25 grs), #2507 Rushmore

Straight knitting needles, size 10 (6.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

16" Length circular knitting needle, size 10 (6.00 mm)


Gauge

14sts = 4"; 22 rows = 4" in Pat St

Pattern Stitch (Multiple of 4 sts + 3)

Row 1:  * K2, p2, rep from * to last 3 sts, end k2 p1.

Rep this row for Pat St.


Back

With straight needles, cast on 67(75-79-87-95-103) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 16(16-16½-16½-17-17)", end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes.  Work even until armholes measure 8(8-8½-8½-9-9½)", end on WS.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 5(7-7-9-11-11) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 6(7-8-9-10-12) sts at beg of the next 4 rows.  Bind off remaining 33 sts for back neck.


Front

Work same as back until armholes measure 5½(5½-6-6-6½-7)", end on WS.

Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  Work 28(32-34-38-42-46) sts, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 11 sts, work to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge once, then dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row 3 times, then every RS row 6 times - 17(21-23-27-31-35) sts each side.  When armholes measure 8(8-8½-8½-9-9½)", end on WS.  Shape shoulders same as back.


Sleeves

With straight  needles, cast on 35 sts.  Work even in Pat St for 1", end on WS. 

Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, work to last st, M1k, p1 - 37 sts.  Rep this inc every 1½(1½-1¼-1¼-1-1)" 9(9-11-11-13-14) times more, working incs into Pat St as sts become available - 55(55-59-59-63-65) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 17" from beg, end on WS.  Bind off knitwise.


Finishing

Sew right shoulder seam.

Turtleneck:  With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at left shoulder, pick up and k17 sts along left front neck edge, 11 sts across front neck edge, 17 sts along right front neck edge, then 34 sts across back neck edge - 79 sts.  Work even in Pat St for 5", end on WS.  Bind off knitwise.  Sew left shoulder and turtleneck seam.  Sew in sleeves between armhole markers.  Sew side and sleeve seams.
