Materials

1 Hank Berroco Lacey (100g), #2301 Linen

Crochet hook, size 6-G US (4 mm) OR

Knitting needles, size 7 US (4.5 mm)

NOTE: Use larger loops along top edge.

Crochet Version

To secure end, roll first 1" of "yarn" and put crochet hook through all layers at the top edge. Put hook through the next loop on the top edge and pull through the rolled layers.

* Gathering stitch - Put hook through the next 4 loop A's (under nylon chain), pull 4th loop through all other loops on hook (see below).

Lock stitch - Put hook through the next loop B (under nylon chain), pull this loop through the first loop on hook (see below).

Repeat from *

Roll the last 1" of "yarn" and put hook through all layersat the top edge. Pull though the other loop on hook.Secure last loop with sewing thread. For a nice touch,sew on a small charm when securing the last loop.

Knit Version

To secure end, roll first 1" of "yarn" and put right-hand needle through all layers at the top edge. Put needle through the next loop on the top edge and with a 2nd needle, pull through the loop of rolled layers over the single loop.

*Gathering stitch: Put needle through the next 4 loop A's (under nylon chain), with 2nd needle pull each other loop on needle over the last loop picked up (see below).

Lock stitch: Put needle through the next loop B (under nylon chain), with 2nd needle pull the first loop on needle over the loop just picked up (see below).

Repeat from *

Roll the last 1" of "yarn" and put needle through all layers at the top edge. With 2nd needle pull first loop on needle over loop made with the rolled layers. Secure with sewing thread. For a nice touch, sew on a small charm when securing the last loop.
