Size

One size fits most. 30” long from Neck to

Front Point, 23” long at sides.  6” cowl collar.


Materials

Berroco Suede (50 grs), 10 balls #3704 Wrangler.

J-10 (6mm) and K-10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hooks OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.


Gauge

Using larger hook 3 rows = 3”.

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.


Poncho

Using larger hook, ch 72, join with sl st to form ring.

Rnd 1:  Ch 5 (counts as one tr and one ch for corner now and throughout), 36 tr, ch 1 for corner, 35 tr, join in 4th ch of beg ch-5; do not turn this or any rnd – 72 tr & 2 ch-1 corners. 

Rnd 2:  Sl st in ch-1 corner sp, ch 5, work 4 tr in same ch-1 sp as sl st, *[sk next 4 tr, work 4 tr in sp before next tr] 8 times,* sk next 4 tr, work (4 tr, ch 1, 4 tr) in ch-1 corner sp, rep from * to * 1 time, sk next 4 tr, work 3 tr in same ch-1 corner sp as beg sl st, join in 4th ch of beg ch-5. 

Rnd 3 - 19:  Sl st in ch 1 corner sp, ch 5, work 4 tr in same ch-1 sp as sl st, *skipping all tr crochet sts and working sts only in spaces between 4-tr crochet groups and in corner ch-1 spaces work *4 tr in next sp, rep from * to corner ch-1 sp, work (4 tr, ch 1, 4 tr) in corner, * 4 tr in next sp, rep from * to beg ch-1 corner, 3 tr in corner, join in 4th ch of beg ch-5.


Scallops

Rnd 1:  Sl st in ch 1 corner sp, ch 4, work 5 tr in same sp as sl st, [*ch 4, sk 3 tr, sl st in next tr, sk sp bet tr crochet groups, sl st in next 2 tr, sl st in sp before next tr (the last sl st will be in the middle of a 4-tr group), sl st in next 2 tr, sk sp bet tr crochet groups, sl st in next tr, ch 4, sk next 3 tr, * 6 tr in next sp bet tr crochet groups (or if at end point work sts in ch-1 sp)] 17 times, rep from * to * 1 time, join in top of beg ch-4 – a total of 18 groups of 6 tr crochet. 

Rnd 2:  Ch 5, tr in next tr, [ch 1, tr in next tr] 4 times, [*ch 4, sk ch sts and first sl st, sl st in next 5 sl st, ch 4, sk next sl st and ch sts, * tr in next tr, [[ch 1, tr in next tr]] 5 times] 17 times, rep from * to * 1 time, join in 4th ch of beg ch-5. 

Rnd 3:  Sl st in ch-1 sp, ch 5, tr in same sp as sl st, [* [[ch 1, (tr, ch 1, tr) in next ch-1 sp]] 4 times, ch 4, sk ch sts and first sl st, sl st in next 3 sl st, ch 4, sk next sl st and ch sts, * (tr, ch 1, tr) in next ch-1 sp] 17 times, rep from * to * 1 time, join in 4th ch of beg ch-5. 

Rnd 4:  Sl st in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp as sl st, [* [[ch 4, sc in next ch-1 sp]] 8 times, ch 4, sk ch sts and first sl st, sl st in next sl st, ch 4, sk next sl st and ch sts, * sc in next ch-1 sp] 17 times, rep from * to * 1 time, join in beg st.  Fasten off.


Cowl Collar

Rnd 1:  Using smaller hook attach yarn at neck bet any two groups of 4-tr crochet, ch 4, [sk next 4 tr, work 4 tr in sp before next tr] 17 times, sk next 4 tr, work 3 tr in same sp as attaching, join in top of beg ch-4 – a total of 18 groups of 4 tr crochet. 

Rnd 2 – 6:  Sl st in next sp bet two groups of 4-tr crochet, ch 4, skipping all tr crochet sts and working sts only in spaces between 4-tr crochet groups work * 4 tr in next sp, rep from * around, 3 tr in same sp as beg sl st, join in top of beg ch-4.  Fasten off after last rnd.
