Materials
4 Hanks Berroco Boboli (100 grs), #5305 Vanilla
Straight knitting needles, size 7 (4.50 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
1 St marker
Gauge
20 sts = 4”; 28 rows = 4” in St st

Note
Shawl is worked sideways. Fringe is made as you are working shawl – shawl is in St st and fringe is in Reverse St st.
Shawl
With straight needles, cast on 2 sts. (Knit 1 row, purl 1 row) twice, end on WS. Cast on 25 sts – 27 sts.
Row 5 (RS): P25, place marker, k1, M1k, k1 – 28 sts.
Row 6: P to marker, k25.
Row 7: P25, k1, M1k, k to end – 29 sts.
Row 8: Rep Row 6.
Row 9: Bind off 25 sts purlwise, drop marker, k1, M1k, k to end – 5 sts.
Row 10: Purl. Cast on 25 sts. Rep Rows 5 – 10 until there are 100 sts on needle, end on Row 10. From here, continue rep Rows 5 – 10, working k2 tog (dec) instead of M1k (inc) on every RS row. When 2 sts remain on needle, end on WS. Bind off.
