2 Hanks Berroco Cirrus (25 grs), #2510 Grand Canyon
16" Length circular knitting needles, sizes 6 (4.00 mm) and 8 (5.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 8 (5.00 mm)

Note: Due to the nature of this pat st, the number of sts will vary from row to row.
Rnds 1 and 2: Knit.
Rnd 3: * Sl 1, k3, pass sl st over the 3 k sts, rep from * to last st, end k1.
Rnd 4: * Yo, k3, rep from * to last st, end k1.
Rep these 4 rnds for Pat St.
Hat
With smaller circular needle, cast on 108 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 1", inc 1 st at end of last rnd - 109 sts. Change to larger circular needle and work even in Pat St until piece measures approximately 8" from beg, ending with Rnd 4 of Pat St. Change to dpn's, dividing sts onto 3 needles.
Shape Top: Rnd 1: * K1, k2 tog, k1, rep from * to last st, end k1 - 82 sts.
Rnd 2: Knit.
Rnd 3: * Sl 1, k2, pass sl st over the k2, rep from * to last st, end k1 - 55 sts.
Rnd 4: * Yo, k2 rep from * to last st, end k1 - 82 sts.
Rnd 5: * K1, k2 tog, rep from * to last st, end k1 - 55 sts.
Rnd 6: Knit.
Rnd 7: * K2 tog, rep from * to last st, end k1 - 28 sts.
Rnd 8: * K2 tog, rep from * around - 14 sts. Break off yarn leaving an 8" long end. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Pull up tightly and secure. Fasten off.
