Stitch Glossary

Wrap St

With yarn in front, sl next st to RH needle, put yarn in back, sl the st back to LH needle – this is now a wrapped st

Unwrap St

Take wrapped st off LH needle, lift the wrap over it and put the wrap and the st back on LH needle, work these 2 sts as SSK

 

Note

Center back panel and collar/frontband are worked first.  Left side/sleeve and right side/sleeve are picked up and work sideways to sleeve cuff

 

Back Panel

With straight needles, cast on 51 sts.  Work even in Rib Pat for 22(22-23-24-25-26)”, end on WS.  Bind off.

 

Collar/Frontband

With straight needles, cast on 23 sts.  Work even in Rib Pat for 23(23-24-25-26-27)”, end on WS.  Mark end of last row.  Work even until piece measures 7” above marker, end on WS.  Mark end of last row.  Work even until piece measures 23(23-24-25-26-27)” above last marker, end on WS.  Bind off.

 

Right Side/Sleeve

With RS facing, using larger circular needle, beg at lower edge of back panel, pick up and k110(110-115-120-125-130) sts along side edge of back panel, then, starting at 2nd marker, pick up and k110(110-115-120-125-130) sts along side edge of collar/frontband to bound-off edge – 220(220-230-240-250-260) sts.

Short Rows:  Row 1 (WS):  P3, k2, wrap st, turn.

Row 2:  Purl to last 3 sts, end k3.

Row 3:  P3, k to wrapped st, unwrap st, k3, wrap st, turn.

Row 4:  Purl to last 3 sts, end k3.

Row 5:  P3, k to wrapped st, unwrap st, k3, wrap st, turn.

Row 6:  P to last 3 sts, end k3.  Rep Rows 5 and 6 eleven times more, end on RS.

Next Row (WS): P3, k to last 3 sts, end p3 – 220(220-230-240-250-260) sts.  Keeping 3 sts at each end in St st and remaining sts in Reverse St st, work even for 4½(5½-6½-7½-8½-9½)”, end on WS.

Divide for Back Side Shaping:  Next Row (RS):  Work 65(65-68-70-72-75) sts of back, sl 90(90-94-100-106-110) sts to holder for right sleeve, then sl remaining 65(65-68-70-72-75) sts to second holder for right front – 65(65-68-70-72-75) sts.  Turn.  Bind off 9(9-9-10-10-10) sts at beg of the next 6 WS rows, then 11(11-14-10-12-15) sts at beg of the next WS row.

Front Side Shaping:  With RS facing, sl 65(65-68-70-72-75) sts from second holder to larger needle.  Join yarn and bind off 9(9-9-10-10-10) sts, work to end – 56(56-59-60-62-65) sts.  Bind off 9(9-9-10-10-10) sts at beg of the next 5 RS rows, then 11(11-14-10-12-15) sts at beg of the next RS row.

Right Sleeve:  With RS facing, sl 90(90-94-100-106-110) sts from first holder to larger needle.  Join yarn and, keeping 3 sts at each edge in St st and remaining sts in Reverse St st, work even for 1”, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K2, SSK, p to last 4 sts, k2 tog, k2 – 88(88-92-98-104-108) sts.  Rep this dec every ¾(¾-¾-½-½-½)” 15(15-17-20-23-25) times more – 58 sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 15” from beg, end on WS, dec 1 st at end of last row – 57 sts.  Change to straight needles and work even in Rib Pat for 3”, end on WS.  Bind off.

 

Left Side/Sleeve

With RS facing, using larger circular needle, beg at cast-on edge of collar/frontband, pick up and k110(110-115-120-125-130) sts along side edge of collar/frontband to first marker, then pick up and k110(110-115-120-125-130) sts along remaining side edge of back panel.

Next Row (WS):  P3, k to last 3 sts, end p3.

Short Rows:  Row 1 (RS):  K3, p2, wrap st, turn.

Row 2:  K to last 3 sts, end p3.

Row 3:  K3, p to wrapped st, unwrap st, p3, wrap st, turn.

Row 4: K to last 3 sts, end p3.

Row 5:  K3, p to wrapped st, unwrap st, p3, wrap st, turn.

Row 6:  K to last 3 sts, end p3.  Rep Rows 5 and 6 eleven times more, end on WS.  Complete to correspond to right side/sleeve.

 

Finishing

Sew side edge of collar between markers to bound-off edge of back panel.  Sew sleeve seams.
