With RS facing, using straight needles and A, pick up and k13 sts between markers. Knit 1 row. Rep Rows 9 – 12 of front, end on WS. With A, knit 2 rows. Bind off. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Finishing
Neckband: With RS facing, using crochet hook, join A with a sl st at center back neck, work 16 sc’s around entire neck edge, join with a sl st in first sc. DO NOT turn.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1. Fasten off. Cut three 10” long strands of each color. Thread strands into tapestry needle and, beg and end at center front neck, weave strands in and out around neckband. Tie in bow as in photo. Trim ends.

Row 3 (Inc Row): K2, sl marker, M1k, k to next marker, M1k, sl marker, k2 – 22 sts. Rep this inc every 4th row 3 times more – 28 sts. Work even until piece measures 2 3/4” from beg, end on WS.
Buttonband: Next Row (RS): Cast on 3 sts, k to marker, sl marker, k to end – 31 sts.
Following Row (WS): Cast on 3 sts, k to marker, sl marker, p5, join another ball of yarn and bind off 1 st, p until there are 12 sts on RH needle after bound-off st, join another ball of yarn and p to last marker, k to end – 10 sts for each front and 12 sts for back. Working all sections at once, keeping 5 sts at each front edge in Garter St and remaining sts in St st, work even until armholes measure 3/4”, end on WS.
Shape Front Neck: Bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, dropping markers – 5 sts for each front and 12 sts for back. Working all sts in St st, dec 1 st at each end (front neck edges) every RS row twice – 3 sts for each front and 12 sts for back. Work even if necessary until armholes measure 1 1/4”, end on WS. Bind off all sts. Sew shoulder seams.
Sleeves
With RS facing, using dpn’s, beg at underarm, pick up and k12 sts around entire armhole. Divide sts onto 3 dpn’s (4 sts per needle). Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) for 1 1/4”. Purl 1 row. Knit 1 row. Bind off.
Finishing
Lap right buttonband over left buttonband and sew button in center.

Tie: With crochet hook, make chain approximately 10” long. Thread end of chain into tapestry needle and, beg and end at center front, weave in and out at lower edge of Yoke. Tie in a bow as in photo.

Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): With A, rep Row 1 of Pat St, work 15 sts, bind off center 7 sts, work to end.
Following Row (WS): With A, rep Row 2 of Pat St, work 15 sts, cast on 7 sts, work to end – 37 sts.
Back: Beg with Row 1, using A, work even in Pat St for 4 rows. With A, working in Pat St, bind off 10 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 17 sts. Beg with Row 3, using B, work even in Pat St until piece measures approximately 2 ¼” above sts bound off at end of sleeves, end on Row 2 of Pat St. Knit 2 rows. Bind off.
Finishing
Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using crochet hook, join A at center of back neck with a sl st. Work 14 sc’s around entire neck edge, join with a sl st in first sc. DO NOT turn.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, work 1 sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in beg ch-1. Fasten off.
Tie: With crochet hook, using A, make a chain 8” long. Tie in a bow and sew to center front neck as in photo.

Poncho
With dpn’s, using MC, cast on 12 sts. Divide sts evenly on 3 dpn’s (4 sts per needle). Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) for 4 rnds.
Inc Rnd: * K1, M1k, k to last st on needle, M1k, k1, rep from * twice more – 18 sts. Work 2 rnds even. Continue in this manner to rep Inc Rnd every 3rd rnd 5 times more – 48 sts. Work even until piece measures 2 3/4” from beg. Change to B and knit 1 rnd, then purl 1 rnd. Bind off.
Finishing
Neckband: With RS facing, using crochet hook, join CC in cast-on rnd with a sl st, work 13 sc’s around entire neck edge, join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
Tie: Cut one 10” long strand each of MC and CC. Thread strands into tapestry needle and weave in and out of poncho 1/2” down from neck edge. Tie in bow as in photo. Turn neck edge down to RS.
Embroidery: With tapestry needle and A, work 4-petal lazy daisy flowers as shown in photo. Make French Knot centers with CC.
