Dear KnitBits® Subscribers,
Today I will begin a virtual tour of our printed pattern collection. We will start with Booklet #239 / Boho™ and Boho™ Colors. Because these yarns are self striping and self patterning, knitting and crocheting with them gives your fabric the look of intricate colorwork without the hassle of stranding, joining and weaving in ends. Combining Boho and Boho
Colors gives us an infinite palette of colors and textures to create patchworks and tapestries. On the cover, our masterpiece kimono jacket, Martuska, is knit from side to side in our favorite feather and fan stitch, creating an undulating rhythm rich in color and texture. This garment looks great on everyone.

Borka, knit in Boho Colors, is a surplice wrap-and-tie top with elbow length sleeves. I think it would look elegant and a bit dressier knit in Boho. Bertuska, our casual V-neck tee shirt, is knit with 2 separate balls of Boho Colors, changing mid-row to allow us to create wider stripes. We added an easy cross stitch embroidery detail to offset the center line. Linka, knit in Boho, is a modern take on a polo top. We've
joined the front opening at
the ribbed band that sits on
the hip. We love it over the
lingerie inspired tank that
everyone is wearing this season. Irenke is a crocheted handbag with lots of character. Agi is a simple tank top with an easy crocheted neckline and Ernesztina is a dramatically long, slim vest that looks great over long pants. We belted it at the hip, leaving it open down the front to flatter the figure.
If you want to purchase booklet #239 and our Boho yarns, they are available now at your
local yarn shop.
Here in New England, it seems like winter will never end, but it always does. Meanwhile, my plans for the weekend include: a favorite movie in the DVD player, a fire in the wood stove and Boho Colors on the needles for the warm weather to come.

Miko from NYC wrote: "I learned to knit and purl last year and I am so enthusiastic about knitting. I bought a bag of Vibe in 4502, Miss Otis Regrets. I love the look of that bright pink. I wanted to make an easy sweater, but this season all my clothing seems to be black. I bought this yarn because I love the color. Do you have any ideas how I can bring color into my wardrobe and still maintain my black uniform?"
Miko, I too love to wear a uniform of all black. I too love color. I find that it is easier to bring color into my wardrobe with accessories. On the fashion runways, one of the favorite accessories is the huge shoulder bag. I like to carry around tons of stuff. I made a huge tote bag with 8 balls of Vibe™ and then felted it. I also made one with 6 balls and one with 4 balls. They are all in bright shades of Vibe and they coordinate perfectly with my all-black wardrobe. Here is a picture of the 3 bags and a link to the Vibe Tote free pattern.

All the best,
