Dear
Subscribers,
Today
I will show you some other yarn craft projects that are simple
to make with leftover amounts of TuTu™.
As
soon as spring arrived everyone put on their flip flops. This inspired
me to wrap a pair of rubber sandals in TuTu. The foot fetish is alive
and well as the warm weather arrives and women all over the country are
opting for pedicures. Dress up your flip flops to match your toenail
polish using our brilliant TuTu palette. It is so easy, you just wrap
the TuTu around and around the upper part and fasten off with a knot
when they are completely covered.
To dress up some fabric covered throw pillows, I took some leftovers
and glued TuTu to the fabric. I used a matching green TuTu for the
green pillow and I squeezed a line of fabric glue along the seam to fasten
the TuTu in place. For the Turquoise pillow, I squeezed the glue in
an abstract pattern and fastened random lengths of different shades of
TuTu.
While shopping for household items, I spotted some foam mesh placemats
and coasters. It occurred to me that they would make a colorful base
for crocheting an edge of contrasting TuTu around the perimeter. A woven
straw glass holder inspired me to weave some lengths of Tu Tu in and
out of the openings. A short length of TuTu can be tied around a napkin
for a colorful finishing touch to your table setting.
I have many more ideas to decorate with TuTu, but time and space will
not allow me to show them all. I have made great hair ornaments by wrapping
headbands and fastening lengths of TuTu to elastic hair bands. I could
go on and on. There are too, too many ideas for non-knitting projects
with TuTu.
Handbags
are so popular and many of them are terribly expensive.
Today we are posting two of our favorites bags from
our summer collection. You can print them out for
free and go to your local Berroco yarn stores to
purchase the yarn.
We are
in the process of rebuilding our website with our Fall/Winter '05-06
collection of new yarns and patterns. In the next several issues of KnitBits
we will be showing all that’s new for the coming season.

Randy
from Dallas wrote, “I have been knitting for many years
and today I found out that I am twisting my stitches. I never knew
that I was doing it wrong. My knitting looks very good and very even
and the little v’s in the stockinette fabric line up neatly.
Do I have to learn to knit another way?”
Randy,
it is possible that you are twisting your stitches on your knit row
and then you might be untwisting them on the purl side. This method
will yield the same look. I have known several knitters who do this.
If it’s not broke, don’t
fix it!
All
the best,
