SIZES FINISHED MEASUREMENTS MATERIALS GAUGE NOTE Use a separate ball of yarn for each color section. DO NOT carry yarn across large sections. When changing colors always hold yarn to the left and pick up new color from underneath. This twists yarn so there are no holes. Small areas may be embroidered in duplicate st if desired. BACK With smaller straight needles, using MC, cast on 62(66-74-78) sts. Ribbing: Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across. Row 2: P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 1” from beg, end on WS, dec 0(0-2-2) sts on last row – 62(66-72-76) sts. Change to larger needles and work even in St st until piece measures 10(10½-11-11½)” from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes. Work even until armholes measure 5(5½-6-6½)”, end on WS. Bind off. FRONT Work same as back until piece measures 3(3½-4-4½)” from beg, end on WS – 62(66-72-76) sts. Establish Chart: Row 1 (RS): With MC, k9(11-14-16), place marker, work Row 1 of Chart over 44 sts, place marker, with MC, k to end. Continue to work in St st following Chart over 44 sts between markers and working remaining sts with MC. When piece measures 10(10½-11-11½)” from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes. When Chart has been completed, drop markers and work all sts in St st with MC until armholes measure 3(3½-4-4½)”, end on WS. Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): K22(23-26-27), join another ball of MC and bind off center 18(20-20-22) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 4 times. Work even on 18(19-22-23) sts each side until armholes measure 5(5½-6-6½)”, end on WS. Bind off each side. SLEEVES With smaller straight needles, using MC, cast on 34 sts. Work in ribbing same as back for 1”, end on WS. Change to larger needles and work in St st, inc 1 st each side every 1(¾-¾-¾)” 8(10-13-15) times – 50(54-60-64) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 10(11-12-13)” from beg, end on WS. Bind off. FINISHING Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle and MC, beg at center back neck, pick up and k64(68-68-72) sts around entire neck edge. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 1”. Bind off loosely in ribbing. Sew on sleeves between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
