BERROCO OPULENT FX (50 grs), 1 ball #7824 Antique Gold (B).
BERROCO SUEDE (50 grs), 1 ball #3751 Kitty (C).
Crochet hook, size 10 mm (N) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
One 1 1/4” button.

GAUGE
8 sc’s = 4”;  9 rows = 4” in sc following striping sequence.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE
Work all rows up to edging through back loop only.

CLOCHE
With crochet hook, using A and C held tog, ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring. 
Rnd 1:  Work 5 sc’s in ring, join with a sl st in 1st sc.
Rnd 2:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next sc) twice, work 2 sc’s in last sc, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 8 sc’s.
Rnd 3:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, work 2 sc’s in next 2 sc’s, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 13 sc’s.
Rnd 4:  Ch1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in last sc, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 18 sc’s.
Rnd 5:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in last sc, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 23 sc’s.
Rnd 6:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next 4 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in last 2 sc’s, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 28 sc’s. Drop A and join B.
Rnd 7:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next 5 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in last 3 sc’s, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 33 sc’s.
Rnd 8:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next 6 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in last 4 sc’s, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 38 sc’s.
Rnd 9:  Ch 1, (work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in next 7 sc’s) 4 times, work 2 sc’s in next sc, 1 sc in last 5 sc’s, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 43 sc’s.  Drop B and join A.
Rnd 10:  Ch 1, work 1 sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in ch-1.  Rep Rnd 10 four times more with A and C, then rep Rnd 10 three times with B and C.  Hat should measure approximately 7” from beg.  Drop B and join A.
Edging:  With A and C held tog, ch 1, * skip 2 sc’s, work 5 tr in next sc, skip 2 sc’s, sc in next sc, rep from * around, skip last st and join with a sl st in ch-1.  Fasten off.

FLOWER
With crochet hook, using B and C held tog, ch 3 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1:  Work 10 sc’s into ring, join with a sl st in 1st sc.
Rnd 2:  Ch 1, * work 5 tr in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * around, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 5 petals.  Fasten off.  Sew flower to front of hat as in photo with button in the center.
