SCARF
With straight needles, using A, cast on 10 sts. Row 1 (RS): Sl 2 sts with yarn in back, k8. Row 2: Sl 2 sts with yarn in front, p8.
Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 12” from beg, end on WS. * Join B and work even using A and B held tog for 4”, end on WS. Drop B and work even with A alone for 10”, end on WS. Rep from * until A is almost gone, end on WS. Bind off all sts.
FRINGE
Cut twenty 36” long strands of B and twenty 30” long strands of C. Put 2 strands each of B and C together with 1 strand A and fold all strands in half. With RS facing, using crochet hook, draw center of strands through first st on cast-on edge of scarf forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. In this manner, make 5 fringes evenly spaced along cast-on and bound-off edges of scarf. Trim fringe to even off if necessary. Note: For speedier cutting, wrap yarn multiple times around a piece of cardboard that is the desired finished length of fringe. Cut lower edge to free wrapped strands.
