SIZE
Approximately 3” wide x 50” long (Not including fringe).

MATERIALS
BERROCO HIP-HOP (100 grs), 1 hank #7224 Beat Box (A).
BERROCO OPULENT FX (50 grs), 1 ball #7824 Antique Gold (B).
BERROCO ZEN COLORS (50 grs), 1 ball #8167 Hako Mix (C).
Straight knitting needles, size 13 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 6.00 mm (J).

GAUGE
10 sts = 4”;  15 rows = 4” in St st with A on size 13 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE
Before starting to knit, cut ten 36” long strands of A for fringe.

SCARF
With straight needles, using A, cast on 10 sts.
Row 1 (RS):  Sl 2 sts with yarn in back, k8.
Row 2:  Sl 2 sts with yarn in front, p8.
Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 12” from beg, end on WS.  * Join B and work even using A and B held tog for 4”, end on WS.  Drop B and work even with A alone for 10”, end on WS.  Rep from * until A is almost gone, end on WS.  Bind off all sts.

FRINGE
Cut twenty 36” long strands of B and twenty 30” long strands of C.  Put 2 strands each of B and C together with 1 strand A and fold all strands in half.  With RS facing, using crochet hook, draw center of strands through first st on cast-on edge of scarf forming a loop.  Pull ends of fringe through this loop.  In this manner, make 5 fringes evenly spaced along cast-on and bound-off edges of scarf.  Trim fringe to even off if necessary.
Note:  For speedier cutting, wrap yarn multiple times around a piece of cardboard that is the desired finished length of fringe.  Cut lower edge to free wrapped strands.
