FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Chest – 18(20-22-24)”.
Length – 14(15-16-17)”.

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO PLUSH (50 grs), 3(3-3-4) balls #1952 Baby Mix (A) and 2(2-2-3) balls #1924 Jazzy Turquoise (B).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 10 and 10 1/2 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 5.00 mm (H).
Tapestry needle.
1 1/2 yds of 1” wide satin ribbon in matching color.

 

GAUGE
12 sts = 4”; 20 rows = 4” in St st following Stripe Pat on size 10 1/2 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

STRIPE PATTERN
Working in St st, * work 6 rows A, then 2 rows B. Rep from * for Stripe Pat.

 

BACK
With larger needles, using A, cast on 43(46-49-52) sts. Knit 2 rows. Work even in Stripe Pat until piece measures 9(9 1/2-10-10 1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Bodice: Knit the next row, dec 15 sts evenly spaced across – 28(31-34-37) sts. Work even in Stripe Pat until bodice measures 2” above dec row, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each armhole edge every RS row once. Work even on 22(25-28-31) sts until armholes measure 2 1/2(3-3 1/2-4)”, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): K7(8-9-9), join another ball of yarn and bind off center 8(9-10-13) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row 3 times. When armholes measure 4(4 1/2-5-5 1/2)”, end on WS. Bind off remaining 4(5-6-6) sts each side for shoulders.

 

FRONT
Work same as for back.

 

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams.

Sleeve Ruffles: With RS facing, using smaller needles and B, pick up and k24(27-30-33) sts evenly spaced along armhole edge between markers. Change to larger needles and knit 1 row. Change to A and k the next row, inc 1 st in each st across – 48(54-60-66) sts. Purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row. Bind off all sts. Thread 2 strands of B through tapestry needle. With WS facing, sew running sts along garter ridge at beg of ruffle and tie off snugly to reinforce armhole and prevent stretching. Sew side seams and sides of ruffles tog.
Neck Edging: With RS facing, using crochet hook and B, beg at left shoulder seam, work in sc around entire neck edge, join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Sc in first 2sc’s, * ch 4, sl st in last sc worked, sc in next 2 sc’s, rep from * around, end ch 4, sl st in last sc worked, join with a sl st in first sc. Tack center of ribbon to center of back at beg of bodice. Tie as in photo.
