Shown in size Small.

SIZES
Directions are for women’s size Small. Changes for sizes Medium, Large and X-Large are in parentheses.

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 38(42-46-52)".
Length (Including rolled edge) – 22(22-1/2-23-23-1/2)".
Note: When measuring length of this garment, flatten out rolled edge and measure from beg.

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO GLACE (50 grs), 8(9-10-11) hanks #2328 Mushroom.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 6.
Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G).
Cable Needle (cn).
2 St Holders.

 

GAUGE
5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1" in St st.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

STITCH GLOSSARY
K2SP
K2 tog, then sl st back to LH needle, lift 2nd st on LH needle back over returned st and replace returned st on RH needle (2 sts dec’d).
RT3
Sl 1 st to cn and hold in BACK, k2, then k1 from cn.
LT3
Sl 2 sts to cn and hold in FRONT, k1, then k2 from cn.

 

BACK
With smaller straight needles, cast on 95(105-115-130) sts. Work even in St st for 1", end on WS. Change to larger needles and work even until piece measures 3-1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Waist: Dec Row (RS): K2, SSK, k to last 4 sts, k2 tog, k2. Rep this dec every 1" 4 times more, end on WS – 85(95-105-120) sts. Piece should measure 7-1/2" from beg. Work even for 1-1/2", end on WS.
Inc Row (RS): K2, M1k, k to last 2 sts, M1k, k2. Rep this inc every other RS row 4 times more – 95(105-115-130) sts. Work even in St st until piece measures 13" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 3(3-5-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 2(3-4-6) sts at beg of the next 4 rows.
Row 7 (RS): K3, K2SP, k to last 6 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k3.
Rows 8 and 10: K1, p to last st, k1.
Row 9: Knit. Rep Rows 7-10 3 times more, end on WS – 65(71-73-76) sts. Work even until armholes measure 5-1/2(6-6-1/2-7)", end on WS.
Diagonal Ridges: Row 1 (RS): K15(16-17-19), RT3, k29(33-33-32), LT3, k15(16-17-19).
Row 2: K1, p to last st, k1.
Row 3: K14(15-16-18), RT3, k31(35-35-34), LT3, k14(15-16-18). Continue in this manner to move ridges 1 st to the left and right every other row 7 times more, end on WS.
Shape Shoulders: Row 1 (RS): Bind off 4(5-5-6) sts, k until there are 2(2-3-4) sts on RH needle, RT3, k47(51-51-50), LT3, k to end.
Row 2: Bind off 4(5-5-6) sts, p to end. Bind off 4(4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 49(53-53-52) sts. Work even in St st for 10 rows, end on WS. Sl all sts onto holder for back neck.

 

FRONT
Work same as for back to shoulder shaping.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Row 1 (RS): Bind off 4(5-5-6) sts, k until there are 2(2-3-4) sts on RH needle, RT3, k12, sl center 23(27-27-26) sts onto holder, join another hank of yarn and k12, LT3, then k to end. Work both sides at once.
Row 2: Bind off 4(5-5-6) sts, p across, dec 1 st at each neck edge.
Row 3: Bind off 4(4-5-6) sts, k across, dec 1 st at each neck edge.
Row 4: Bind off 4(4-5-6) sts, p across, dec 1 st at each neck edge. Continue to work in St st and to dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row until 1 st remains on each side. Fasten off.

 

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder and side seams, reversing seams over rolled edge.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at center back, k25(27-27-26) sts from back holder, pick up and k14 sts along left front neck edge, k23(27-27-26) sts from front holder, pick up and k14 sts along right front neck edge then k remaining 24(26-26-26) sts from back holder – 100(108-108-106) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work in Reverse St st (p EVERY round) for _". Bind off all sts purlwise.
Armhole Edging: With RS facing, using crochet hook, beg at underarm and work in sc around each armhole. Allowing edge to roll back at bottom, tack in place at each side seam.
