Directions are for women’s size Small. Changes for sizes Medium, Large and X Large are in parentheses.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust - 37(41-45-49)".
Length – 25(251/2-26-261/2)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO METALLIC FX (25 grs), 12(13-14-15) hanks #1003 Gold/Black.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 5 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 5.
1 St Marker.

GAUGE
11 sts = 2"; 31 rows = 4" in St st with size 8 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

STITCH GLOSSARY
K2SP

K2 tog, then sl st back to LH needle, lift 2nd st on LH needle back over returned st and replace returned st on RH needle (dec 2).

BACK
With smaller straight needles, cast on 122(130-142-154) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 2", end on Row 1.
Next Row (WS): Purl, dec 20(18-18-20) sts evenly spaced across – 102(112-124-134) sts. Change to larger needles and work even in St st until piece measures 161/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 4(3-4-3) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Work 2 rows even.
Row 5 (RS): K3, K2SP, k to last 6 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k3.
Rows 6 and 8: Purl.
Row 7: Knit. Rep Rows 5-8 twice more, end on WS. Work even on 82(94-104-116) sts until armholes measure 71/2(8-81/2-9)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 7(10-11-13) sts at beg of the next row, work until there are 20(22-26-28) sts on RH needle, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 28(30-30-34) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 7(10-11-13) sts at beg of the next row, then bind off 8(9-11-12) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge twice.

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 51/2(6-61/2-7)", end on WS – 82(94-104-116) sts.
Note: Work decs on left side of neck as sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k3. Work decs on right side of neck as k3, K2SP.
Shape Neck: K29(34-39-43), join another hank of yarn and bind off center 24(26-26-30) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, dec 2 sts at each neck edge as in note every other RS row 3 times – 23(28-33-37) sts each side. Work even until armholes measure 71/2(8-81/2-9)", end on WS. Shape shoulders same as for back.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder and side seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at center back, pick up and k22(23-23-24) sts to left shoulder seam, 17 sts along left front neck edge, 22(24-24-26) sts across front neck edge, 17 sts along right front neck edge and 22(23-23-24) sts across remaining back neck edge – 100(104-104-108) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 81/2". Bind off in ribbing.
Armbands: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at side seam, pick up and k104(108-112-116) sts evenly spaced around entire armhole edge. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up.
Round 1: * K2, p2, rep from * around
Round 2: Dec 1, work in ribbing as established to last 2 sts, dec 1. Rep these 2 rounds for 1". Bind off in ribbing.
