Directions are for women’s size Small. Changes for sizes Medium, Large and X Large are in parentheses.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 40(44-48-54)".
Length – 25-1/2(26-26-1/2-27)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO MOHAIR CLASSIC (43 grs), 10(11-11-12) balls #B1136.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 9 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 9.
Cable Needle (cn).
1 St Marker.

GAUGE
7 sts = 2"; 5 rows = 1" in Reverse St st on size 10 needles.
12 sts = 2" over Cable Pat on size 10 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

STITCH GLOSSARY
CB12
Sl 6 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k6, then k6 from cn.
M1K
Pick up horizontal strand between st just worked and next st, place on LH needle, k this st (inc 1).
MIP
Pick up horizontal strand between st just worked and next st, place on LH needle, p this st (inc 1).

CABLE PAT (Worked over 12 sts)
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 13 (RS):
Knit.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl.
Row 9: CB12.
Row 14: Purl.
Rep these 14 rows for Cable Pat.

BACK
With smaller straight needles, cast on 94(98-106-118) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: K1, p1, k2, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, k1. Rep these 2 rows for 2", end on Row 1.
Inc Rows (WS):
For Size Small Only: K1, p1, k2 tog, k2, k2 tog, (p3, M1P, p4, M1P,p3, k6) twice, p3, p2 tog, p4, p2 tog, p3, (k6, p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3) twice, k2 tog, k2, k2 tog, p1, k1 – 96 sts.
For Size Medium Only: K1, p1, k5, p2 tog, (p3, M1P) twice, p3, k3, M1P, k3, * p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3, (k1, k2 tog) 3 times, k1, rep from * once more, p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3, k3, M1K, k3, p3, (M1P, p3) twice, p2 tog, k5, p1, k1 – 102 sts.
For Size Large Only: K1, p1, k3, M1K, k3, * p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3, (k2, k2 tog) twice, k2, rep from * 3 times more, p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3, k3, M1K, k3, p1, k1 – 110 sts.

For All Sizes: Change to larger needles.
Pat St Placement: Row 1 (RS): K2, p4(5-7-8), * work Row 1 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, p6(7-8-10), rep from * 3 times more, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, p4(5-7-8), k2.
Row 2: K1, p1, k4(5-7-8), * work Row 2 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, k6(7-8-10), rep from * 3 times more, work Row 2 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, k4(5-7-8), p1, k1. Work even in pat as established until piece measures 16-1/2" from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes. Work even until armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders: Bind off 10(11-12-14) sts at beg of the next 4 rows, then 10(10-12-13) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, dec 4 sts across each full cable. (See pg. 1). Bind off remaining 36(38-38-38) sts for neck, dec 4 sts across center cable.

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 6-1/2(7-7-1/2-8)", end on WS.
Shape Neck: Work 40(42-46-51) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 16(18-18-18) sts, decreasing 4 sts across top of center cable, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 4 sts at each neck edge twice, then dec 1 st each neck edge every RS row twice – 32 sts each side. AT THE SAME TIME, when armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)", end on WS. Decreasing 4 sts across each full cable, shape shoulders same as for back.

SLEEVES
With smaller straight needles, cast on 42 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 2", end on Row 1.
Inc Row (WS): K1, p1, (M1P, p2) 4 times, k3, M1K, k3, p3, M1P, p4, M1P, p3, k3, M1K, k3, (p2, M1P) 4 times, p1, k1 – 54 sts. Change to larger needles.
Pat St Placement: Row 1 (RS): K2, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, * p7, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, rep from * once more, k2.
Row 2: K1, p1, work Row 2 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, * k7, work Row 2 of Cable Pat over next 12 sts, rep from * once more, p1, k1.
Inc Row (RS): K2, M1P, work in pat as established to last 2 sts, M1P, k2. Working in pat as established, rep this Inc Row every 4th row 0(0-0-7) times, every 6th row 0(4-10-6) times, every 8th row 4(6-1-0) times, then every 10th row 4(0-0-0) times – 72(76-78-82) sts.. All incs should be worked in Reverse St st. Work even until sleeve measures 18(18-17-16-1/2)" from beg, end on WS. Bind off all sts, dec 4 sts across each cable.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at center back neck, pick up and k14(15-15-16) sts to left shoulder seam, 15 sts along left front neck edge, 18(20-20-22) sts across front neck edge, 15 sts along right front neck edge and 14(15-15-16) sts across remaining back neck edge – 76(80-80-84) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 3". Bind off in ribbing. Sew in sleeves between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
