FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 361/2(39-43-46)”.
Length – 211/2(22-22-221/2)”.

MATERIALS
BERROCO GLACE COLORS (50 grs) 12(13-14-15) hanks #2834 Bachelor Button.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 5 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 5.
Cable needle (cn).

GAUGE
24 sts = 4"; 30 rows = 4" in diagonal rib with size 7 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

DIAGONAL RIB (multiple of 4 sts plus 2)
Row 1 (WS)
: K1, *k3, p1; rep from *, end k1.
Row 2: K1, *sl 1 WYIB, p3; rep from *, end k1.
Row 3: K1, *k3, sl 1 WYIF; rep from *, end k1.
Row 4: K1, * place sl st on cn and hold in FRONT, p2, k st from cn, p1; rep from *, end k1.
Row 5: K2, *p1, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 6: K1, *p2, sl 1 WYIB, p1; rep from *, end k1.
Row 7: K2, *sl 1 WYIF, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 8: K1, p2, *place sl st on cn and hold in FRONT, p2, k st from cn, p1; rep from * to last 3 sts, place sl st on cn and hold in FRONT, p1, p st from cn, k1.
Rep rows 1-8 for Diagonal Rib.

BACK
With smaller needles, cast on 108(118-128-138) sts.
Row 1(RS): K3, * p2, k3, rep from * across.
Row 2: P3, *k2, p3, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 21/2”, inc 2(0-2-0) sts on last row. Change to larger needles and work in Diagonal Rib on 110(118-130-138) sts until piece measures 201/2(21-21-211/2)” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Work 44(47-53-57) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 22(24-24-24) sts, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off at each neck edge 4 sts twice, then 3 sts once. Bind off remaining 33(36-42-46) sts each side for shoulders.

FRONT
Work same as for back until piece measures 19(191/2-191/2-20)” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Work 46(49-55-59) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 18(20-20-20) sts, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts from each neck edge twice, 2 sts twice, then dec 1 st every other row 3 times. Work even until piece measures 211/2(22-22-221/2)”, end on WS. Bind off remaining 33(36-42-46) sts each side for shoulders.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly (See instructions on page 1). Sew shoulder and side seams.
Neckband: With RS facing and circular needle, beg at center back neck, pick up and k 110(115-115-115) sts evenly around neck edge. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up.
Round 1: * K3, p2, rep from * around. Rep this round for 2". Bind off loosely in ribbing.
Armhole bands: Place markers 91/2(10-10-101/2)” down from shoulder seams on front and back for armholes. Sew side seams from lower edge to armhole markers. With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at side seam, pick up and k 100(105-105-110) sts evenly around each armhole edge. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work in ribbing same as for neckband for 2". Bind off loosely in rib.
